Blog 10: ABC for Eye Conditions

Have you been diagnosed with an eye condition? How easy is it to find some basic information about your condition?

 

If you have a common eye condition, such as Macular Degeneration or Cataract, there is a lot of information available, both online as well as in the form of leaflets in the eye department. You might even have read some information about your eye condition in one of my blogs!

 

But what if you have a rarer condition, such as Bardet-Biedl syndrome, microphthalmia, neurofibromatosis or retinoblastoma? Where can information be accessed online?

 

Whilst this website does provide information about a range of conditions and related topics, it is not an exhaustive list. The good news is that the national charity RNIB (Royal National Institute for Blind People) has an ‘A to Z’ for eye conditions, symptoms and treatments. It is a brilliant resource for anyone wanting to find out more about their eye condition or the eye condition of others:
