Have you ever wondered why you (or someone you know) find it difficult to cope in busy environments? Or why other people seem to go down stairs with much more ease than you do? Or why you get lost or find it hard to find things? Do you prefer to stick to familiar routines?

You are not the only one! In fact, researchers estimate that about 1 child in every school class has some difficulties with processing visual information and this can lead to a wide range of difficulties in everyday life. It is especially common amongst children with neurodevelopmental conditions and children with special educational needs.

Children with visual processing issues, known as Cerebral Visual Impairment (CVI), can be supported in their development and education when their visual difficulties are understood and appropriate strategies are applied. CVI can also occur later in life as a result of brain injury, neurological and neurodegenerative conditions. The right support can significantly improve quality of life.
